GOALS:This survey aims to quantify the business value of open source software (OSS) by collecting detailed data on investments (costs), benefits, and return-on-investment (ROI) across different organizational contexts. The goal is to provide empirical evidence that helps organizations make data-driven decisions about OSS engagement and enables engineers to build stronger business cases to leadership by demonstrating measurable economic impacts of both using and contributing to open source projects.
